Meet Alyssa, your Breastfeeding Counselor!
Hello! I’m Alyssa
Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant
It is so nice to meet you! I have been living in Wylie, TX since I was in middle school. I met my husband and am raising my three sons here, it is such a wonderful place to call home.
I have always been an entrepreneur at heart and have had a hunger for learning. It was not until I had my second son that I realized the passion I had for lactation and breastfeeding.
When I was a young girl my mom had my brother and sister, but I was 12 years old and old enough to see the pain my mother endured trying to breastfeed. My mother wanted so badly to breastfeed, but she lacked support from professionals and family. Knowing she could not breastfeed, I wanted to at least try with my kids. I endured a lot of pain and troubles both times I had newborns and watched countless youtube videos on proper latch before realizing my babies had tongue ties.
After my second son was born I went to weekly breastfeeding support meetings where my passion for breastfeeding grew. I knew it was my calling to help other mothers not go through what my mother or I went through!
My Education
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, concentration in Management. I graduated Summa Cum Laude.
I began education as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist in 2019, and I have over 180 hours lactation specific education. In December of 2020, I received my certification for the IBCLC credential, the gold standard in lactation.
